Using a Vision Board to Manifest Your Goals in 2020

Vision Board

I can write this blog on December 4, 2019 and unequivocally endorse this activity 100 percent! At the end of 2018, I had all my intentions in my head and wanted a better success rate at manifesting those goals in 2019. Fortunately in my former 9-5, I would listen to the Happy Black Woman podcasts https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/happy-black-woman/the-happy-black-woman-podcast in my commute and heard Rosetta mention her conference and the art and success of vision boarding. From there I was sold and very curious on where to start!

What is a Vision Board?

I can succinctly define a Vision Board as a collage of images, pictures, words and quotes that illustrate the goals that you hope to achieve. I simply say a visual representation of your dreams!

How to create a Vision Board

  1. Decide on what you want to achieve in 2020. I reviewed 2018 and wrote down five key statements that represented my personal, health, career, business and financial goals for 2019.
  2. I then linked those five statements to one word. For example, yours can be ‘ABUNDANCE’.
  3. Thereafter, you can do a search via magazines, newspapers, personal photos or online for those pictures or images that best represent what you want to achieve or attract in 2020. I used online images for ease. Be fancy and add trimmings if you like being a tad extra!
  4. Get a sturdy cardboard, hardboard or any surface to stick those images and quotes or words onto. My advice is to ensure its is not too ‘busy’.
  5. When completed, be sure to place in an area that you constantly look at daily. Mine is next to my monthly planner that I review weekly.

Does a Vision Board work?

Yes, yes and yes!!!!

I am reviewing my vision board and out of the eleven images, I accomplished eight of them. So that’s just about an 82% success rate for three weeks till to go to the end of year!

Like words having power, I believe in the power of visualization. The universe is amazing and in making the steps towards these goals that I shared in images, I found that the right people and opportunities just happened when they were supposed to. No jokes! I remain thankful.

Why Should I?

As a professional or business owner you are asking should I even partake in an activity like this? And I would respond with saying that you have nothing to lose if you do. For some, simply writing their goals are enough to get them motivated to action them. That is awesome, especially when they are S.M.A.R.T goals. However, in my personal vision board journey my motivation and focus on these goal pictures did drive me to succeed.

Check out a workshop or make a fun activity out of vision boarding. It is well worth it!

Happy creating.
