The global economy has contracted, but that does not signal an end to consumer spend for some service and product categories. It means therefore businesses and businessowners should be more conscious and strategic about how they allocate their resources to generating new leads.
What is a Lead?
According to Hubspot, “a lead is any person who indicates interest in a company’s product or service”. Therefore, lead generation is the process of attracting and converting strangers and prospects to persons who have interest in your company’s products or services. And that ultimately at some point leads to a purchase.
Why is Lead Generation important?
Customers habits and spending have drastically changed. As an entrepreneur or businessowner you therefore want to ensure that you spend time attracting quality leads for your business. Raise your hand if you prefer a customer who calls and says, “Hi, I saw your website and your custom cabinet building services, can I please schedule a site visit?”, versus “Hi, I want to find out about your prices but I don’t think I can spend xxx amount for your services.” Therefore, having a lead generation process ultimately gets you to the right (desired) customer.
How does a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System help with Lead Generation?
After you have figured out a lead generation process for your business (CSBKAL can easily set this up in a 1:1 consulting session); the next step will be to make the process hassle free and repeatable while ensuring cost effective and quality leads.
Hubspot (CRM) can easily do this for you. First you must ensure that you have set up ad accounts for your Facebook Page and LinkedIn Company Page. Additionally, you should be clear about what you are trying to promote and have a short video or graphic that illustrates this. Similarly, what do you want persons to do after seeing this ad? For example, do you want them to learn more about the service via your website? Furthermore, ensure that the audience matches well your ideal customer in key values like demographics, interests, and behaviour. Finally, set your budget! Based on your objective you can tweak your daily spend.
